Mounting your birdhouse or bird feeder has never been easier. This 1 1/4" diameter pole is made of powder-coated steel, making it stronger than other mounting poles. The top segment tapers to the "universal" 1 inch diameter top where the included mounting bracket will slide on and secure to the pole with thumbscrews.
This pole is designed to work with the Squirrel Stopper Standard Baffle (sold separately).

The Universal Pole Kit Auger is superior to other systems in several ways. The step-on type mount pictured on the left does not extend into the ground far enough to make it as stable as it should be. Our auger goes 2-feet into the ground to ensure a stable and secure base. A competitor's auger is shown on the far right. You can see that the "blades" on this auger are not very wide compared to those on the Universal Pole Kit Auger. Our more robust auger goes into the ground more cleanly and securely. Keep in mind that the Squirrel Stopper auger is constructed with galvanized, powder-coated steel. This pole will remain in place for years without the fear of rusting and breaking apart.

The first image above shows the JCs Wildlife Universal Pole Kit pole next to that of a popular competitor brand. The JCs Pole is 43% larger in diameter. In fact, we could fit their pole inside the JCs Wildlife Pole. The larger pole diameter makes for a much more sturdy and robust platform from which to mount your favorite bird feeder or bird house.
Image #2, shows a close-up of the inside threads and inner wall of the poles. The JCs Wildlife Pole is 2.5X thicker than that of the competitor. Again, much more, durable, stable and robust. The Universal Pole Kit auger is simply the best!
The auger is made to twist 2 feet into the ground for a stable foundation. The lower pole segment is clearly marked showing how far to screw it into the ground. The area around the hole which houses the twist rod is reinforced by an additional "collar" to ensure the pole is protected during the installation process. The blades on the auger are almost 1" deep to ensure a good "bite" into the ground and provide added stability.
A Twist Rod is included to assist with getting the pole into the ground.
The included Twist Rod is just over 19" long and is 1/2" in diameter. Constructed of solid steel, it makes for a great tool in twisting the lower pole segment into sometimes resistant soil conditions. Our Twist Rod is longer and heavier than others.
The upper pole segment is tapered to accept a standard 1" bracket.
Most pole systems on the market today are 1" in diameter. The Universal Pole Kit sports a 1-1/4" diameter. The extra 1/4-inch makes a big difference in the overall sturdiness of the pole and weight it can support. The upper pole segment tapers to 1" at the end to accept most standard 1" pole accessories.
The Universal Bracket makes mounting more versatile.
The included mounting bracket, or flange, can be affixed to the bottom or the back of your bird feeder or house. Screws are included. Once placed on the feeder or house, it can then be secured to the top of the pole by sliding it over the tapered end and securing it with the thumb screws. The bracket is made with the same powder-coated steel as the pole.
