Okay...I have limited knowledge of stamps, apart from a bit of collecting as a kid, so here goes.  Our uncle was a serious philatelist and we're just beginning to get a handle on his vast collection.
This 5-1/2" by 3-1/8" cover was mailed from Washington D.C. to Dedham, Mass. in October 1861.  Accompanied by an APEX Committee Report certificate.  The cover seems to be in nice condition for being 162 years old!  Note that at some point it had pencil writing across the face (perhaps faded or erased) which read "Received October 8 / 61."  You can see the indentation markings clearer in the stamp/postmark close-up image.  Also, the cover was opened w/ a letter opener across the top edge.  No contents within.
Note that if you do an internet search on the recipient, Edward M. Richards, you come up with a heck of alot of hits about his house which seems to be on the US Register of Historic Places and the like so he probably was a person of some importance back in the day.  I didn't do any research on "George F. Fisher" so lemme know if you find anything out, okay?
Questions?  Feel free to ask (before buying please!).
