Focke-Wulf Fw 190 Volume Three: 1944-45 - J.Richard Smith & Eddie J. Creek - Classic Publications
SCARCE!
Brilliant book from the highly respected Classic Publications imprint. This is the third and last of three books on the Fw 190. Classic is now owned by Crecy Publications - however, this in no way impacts on the quality of the book. The same luxurious feel, the same expertly written text, backed up by hundreds of photos (many previously unpublished), colour profiles, technical diagrams and more. The jury's out as to which is the best series on the Fw 190 - this, or the Jerry Crandall books! If you own all of them, you'll surely have the ultimate reference books available on the English language.
There are numerous glowing reviews on Amazon & the like - here's just one from 2013 which gives the book 5 out of 5 stars - the words are NOT my own and are used for descriptive purposes only:
The long awaited third volume in Smith & Creek's Fw 190 history does not disappoint. It is another fabulously researched piece of work, as you would expect from the authors.
This volume continues from where volume 2 left off, detailing the late war history of the 190. The late A, D and F series are covered in detail. Further sections cover some fascinating weaponry that was tested on the 190. Night fighters, Sturmgruppe and the Sachsenberg Shwarm are also covered.
The book also has a very interesting section on captured aircraft and the 190 in foreign service. A comprehensive list of surviving 190s is also given.
Great colour profiles compliment the many photographs and while some have been seen before there are also newly published photographs. Add the informative and very readable text and there is little left to want. The book also suggests that the potential for a 4th volume looks likely to be realised in the future
Highly recommended to all aviation enthusiasts.
