Description

An antique 19th Century black papier mache table snuff box, dating to the late Georgian period, circa 1820. 

The circular black papier mache box box, with concave sides and a lift off lid. The lid is set with a white paste relief of a Gentleman, possibly Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, in profile facing to the left on a red glass ground. The oval medallion is under domed glass with a gold mount. The lid opens to reveal a gilded liner to the underside of the lid.

Condition:

In good antique condition, with expected age related signs of use including a small loss to the inner rim of the box. Please see the images provided which complement this description.
