Here is a nice vintage Victorian Aesthetic Majolica Art Pottery Pitcher by Eureka Pottery c. 1883 - Japanese in inspiration and Triangular in form, it features a pattern of overlapping fans with a white owl and stylized tree blossoms and fruit. Has a brown bamboo form handle. Unmarked. Stands 8 1/4" tall.
- Active from 1883 to 1887 (when the factory burned down) and Located in Trenton, New Jersey, the Eureka Pottery Company became one of the period’s most popular producers of majolica and this example demonstrates their distinctive Japanese-inspired designs.
Condition: Has some crazing, a 6" hairline that curves across the bottom half of one of the yellow/light blue fans. and a factory glaze pop on the spout. All are visible in the many photos here.
