This is an early 1860s Carte de Visite (CDV) photograph of a painting. The painting, which is at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), is called ‘Washington and Lafayette at Mount Vernon, 1784 (The Home of Washington after the War)’ and was made by Thomas Pritchard Rossiter and Louis Remy Mignot.

 

SIZE. Approximately 2 7/16 x 3 15/16 inches.

 

CONDITION. Photo: Some foxing. A tiny dark spot to the right of Washington. Other light soiling. Mount: Wear at corners. Front has a bit of foxing and light soiling. Back has foxing, soiling, and spots.
