Guler is a small state in the lower Himalayas that has a distinct miniature art style. The Guler school of painting developed after the death of Aurangzeb, when painters shifted to Guler after losing patronage from the Mughal court. They blended Mughal techniques with naturalistic elements. The paintings are inspired from the later era Guler paintings and focus heavily on the line work keeping colors minimal. This helps bring out painting style.
