MR. D. R. H. WILLIAMS has been an active man of business all his life, but he has had two forms of 'escape': his chief relaxations have been shooting and fishing, to both of which he is devoted.

Though he took up fishing later in life than shooting, this book shows once more how love of fishing grows as a man grows older. And the author's love for the sport as he knows it in the beautiful rivers and dales of Yorkshire is reflected in his vivid and detailed descriptions of his days with the rod.

But his love of his native moors and coverts has not been entirely displaced by his later passion. And, being a business man, he has much of interest to say of the business side of shooting in Yorkshire—what one should look for in taking a shoot, what one should pay for the sort of shooting one wants and how one can improve it.

The result is a book which will interest both the large and increasing number of people who like fishing, and those shooting men who find nowadays that the money available for their favourite sport has so diminished that they must exercise careful thought if they want anything like their former pleasure. Finally, all who love Yorkshire will delight in the simple but vivid descriptions of the moors and rivers of the county.
