DESCRIPTION:
This is a wonderful and rare unbusual gilt Mantel / Bracket clock by 'Elliott LONDON' who are renowned for their high quality clocks. The clock is of lovely proportions, and very nicely shaped.  In addition the clock is retailed by 'THURLOW CHAPNESS & SON BURY ST EDMUNDS'.

The case is beautifully gilt finished and to the top has a lovely shaped brass carrying handle. The dial is silvered with a silvered chapter ring and is set out with Roman numerals with small Arabic numerals above, and it is finished with a super pair of shaped fingers. The dial is signed to the centre with the retailer  'THURLOW CHAMPNESS & SON BURY ST EDMUNDS' and 'Elliott London'.  The chapter ring is also signed 'MADE IN ENGLAND' to the bottom. The dial is covered with glass which is in perfect condition. To the sides are lovely panels which allow the movement to be viewed.

The clock is raised on a shaped plinth. The movement is accessed by a door to the rear and is stamped 'F.W. ELLIOTT LTD CROYDON ENGLAND 7 (SEVEN) JEWELS UNADJUSTED 89139'. The clock is happily ticking away and keeping good time. The underneath of the clock case is stamped '10/16 5 79'.

DIMENSIONS:
The approximate MAXIMUM dimensions are: 12 cm wide x 9.5 cm deep x 18.5 cm high to top of handle and 15 cm high to top of clock.

AGE:
We understand the stamp '10/16 79' dates this to being made in 16 October 1979.

CONDITION:
The case is in excellent condition as can be seen from the photographs, just very minor marks commensurate with age and very careful use. The clock is in perfect working order.
