I opened a cabinet and see that there are many Invicta watches that haven't see the light of day in years. I used to wear a color coordinated watch for every occasion. Now it's FitBit and other health monitors that have a much lighter in weight and size.
Two of these watches run well but the 5684 Sea Spider has a rubber wristband that went brittle and fell apart. It has a Ana-Digi GMT face with a 24-hour outer dial. The 50mm size clearly displays the day and date. The Japanese Quartz movement is protected by a mineral face and 100 meter water resistance.
One of my first watches was the 2772 I Force chronograph that offers a Japanese Quartz movement on a more dressy 46mm size.
It displays a tachymeter and date window. It also features a nice brown leather band.
But it caught on the rail of a scissor lift and fell some 20 feet to a hard floor. And though it somehow still worked, 2 of the three small hands on the hour, minute, and second hands detached and are loose behind the crystal. Invicta's website shows an MSRP of $595.
A great find for those that like small mechanics.
Had a little more time so I added some pictures.
On the Sea Spider, you can see where the inferior rubber band crumbled some more when I tried to wipe it off.
If not for the band, I'd still be wearing it on occasions.
The I Force that humpty-dumptied still ran, so I paid what I remember as $35 after I'd sent it in as pre-payment to put the small hands back on it as you can see them lying on the face. Any watch that could do that, I wanted to get fixed, but after the initial correspondence and months of waiting, it was returned unrepaired with a note that said they didn't fix it because they couldn't reach me.
This even though we had conversed to get the $35 sent off and the fact that they could return it to my mailbox.
I gave up at that point. Low offer is set at $69.
