This old gimlet is not familiar to some folks. You used it to start a screw hole.
Total length is 4 1/4", handle is 1 5/8" wide.
It's in good condition - the gently shaped wooden handle has no damage and is firmly fixed on the shaft.
The shank is heavily darkened from age and use, but the screw point is intact.
