Original WW2 silver plated bronze medal to commemorate the Battle of London.

Part of the proceeds by the sale of this medal were given to the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Size: 57 mm diameter.

Obverse: St. Paul's Cathedral is surrounded by smoke and flames in the background of the centre circle.
The remains of a bombed building is in the foreground. A German bomber is lit up by the ray of searchlights.
Inscribed 'BATTLE OF LONDON - SEPT 1940 MAY 1941'.

Reverse: The Tower of London is depicted in the background with the River Thames to the foreground.
A German V1 Doodlebug falls from the sky overhead.
Inscribed 'BATTLE OF LONDON - JUNE 1944 AUGUST'.

Medal comes in its original scarce case of issue.

In good condition for age (issued originally in 1944) with light wear/rubbing.

Original box of issue does have some creasing/crushing but generally very good for age.

Lovely wartime coin/medal for the collector & even moreso having its box of issue.

It is offered for a very low price & will be sent - as always - extremely well packaged to the winning bidder.

If in any doubt - CHECK OUT MY FEEDBACK!!!

Thanks for looking.
