A. W. F. TAYLERSON
BARRIE & JENKINS: LONDON
1970
First edition.
"This is the long-awaited concluding volume of A. W. F. Taylerson's work on The Revolver. Two previous volumes dealt with the periods 1818-1865 and 1865-1888.
This new volume follows the same general arrangement as its predecessors and includes the following subjects: Continental arms, American rim-fire, American centre-fire, United kingdom centre-fire, Obsolescent arms in use.
Although the famous handguns of the period predominate — 'Colt', 'Smith and Wesson', 'Webley', there was a surprising variety of smaller manufacturers whose operations are dealt with here in some depth.
There is a study of Patents, a Who's Who, and a Bibliography. There are 71 photographs and numerous line drawings."
24 x 16 cm. 324 pp + b/w photo plates.
