For your consideration is this fab cooling mat. I use them for each of my 5 elderly cats to keep them cool in Summer plus on my pillows on those awful hot nights. There is no gel in these, they are machine washable. I have  absolutely no idea how they work, just know that they do. They are 70 x 55cm, which covers one entire seat on my sofa and all my cat beds.
