A classy dress with a history. The dress has a full skirt with 3 layers of fun. Around the bodice of the dress is lace detailing. The first layer of the skirt is pleated taffeta, the second is a silky material and the third is a detachable net petticoat. ( I'm guessing on fabric  - as it wasn't mandatory to identify fabric on tags, or indicate size on garment.) The Ladies Garment Union AFL-CIO made this dress and every garment by hand. Garment was made in late 1940s or early 1950s. This is information I've come up with on the dress. Condition: Very good - There is a musty smell and needs to be clean, to get rid of I would guess. Measurement from shoulder seam to seam: 15",  Bust: 31/32" , Waist :25".
The size I can compare it to is a 0 or 2 (xs) in US size. Size 2 being the max size. It is an evening or party dress, wasn't worn for everyday. I find it fascinating with all the history that goes with it.
