There is no year of printing present, but the book is definitely late Victorian, and circa 1890. 

Containing an extensive family register. There are a total of 8 pages which are completely blank with no entries, and making it perfect for a modern day family to use. There is the husband and wife section at the beginning, followed by children's names, marriages, deaths, and four pages for the photographs/family portrait section.

Bound in exquisite fine black leather binding, with two detailed and lavishly decorated embossed brass clasps, and four thick brass corners.

With beautiful embossed gilt decoration to the boards and spine panels, and the page fore edges are gilt edged. The spine has five thick raised bands.

Dimensions of 13.5" x 10.5" x 3.5" thick - it weighs 6kg unpacked.

The condition is remarkably good as stated, and both the binding and the contents are in near mint order. This bible has been extremely well looked after, stored and preserved, and it is hard to find them like this and being so as new in appearance. The gilt decoration is still as bright as the day it was made, and this includes to the boards, spine, and gilt page fore edges (see images). There is no wear, rubbing, or damage to mention to the leather, and both boards are firmly attached with no splitting or weakness to inner or outer hinges.

There are a a few light and minor marks to the inner front cover, but the contents are otherwise completely spotless and immaculate throughout.

It is almost as if the bible has hardly ever been handled let alone opened and read.

The text block is firm and secure with no missing, detached or loose pages, and there are no rips or tears present anywhere.
