A SCARCE KING'S OWN YORKSHIRE YEOMANRY LIGHT INFANTRY CAP BADGE.


A silver and gilt steel badge with black, white and red enamel measuring 45mm x 38mm with two lugs to the back, its original split pin and brass backing plate.


In excellent condition as images being an unissued stock example.


The unit was formed from the 8th (Yorkshire) Battalion of the Light Infantry on 3rd August 1996 at Nostell Priory near Wakefield. The Regiment was the Formation Recce Regiment for 2 Division and equipped with stripped down 110 Landrovers. The regiment disbanded on 1st July 1999 after having existed for less than 3 years.


FIRMINS produced 400 of these high quality badges with approx' 200 being converted to belt plate badges, the orignial lugs were removed and replaced with short squat fittings.


PLEASE NOTE THAT A MANUFACTURERS FAULT CAUSES THE RED AND WHITE ENAMEL OF THE PENNONS TO FALL OUT  AND SOME EXAMPLES ON EBAY HAVE ONE OR MORE OF THESE TINY PIECES MISSING.


THIS BADGE IS COMPLETE WITH ALL FOUR PENNON COLOURS INTACT.
