Here we have colorful cloth that I believe is from Africa and called kente cloth. The strips are about 3' wide and sewn together.  The fabric is probably cotton.  The dimensions are 26x74 inches.  This is from a fabric collection of the designer Alexander Julian that he sold when he was closing up his Connecticut farm a few years ago.
