Description Superb rare large English antique solid sterling silver calling card case by the silversmith Walker & Hall in excellent condition and with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1904. Lovely quality and with a hinged silver lid; it is decorated with beautiful embossed flowers and foliate scrolls and has a nice embossed scene on the front depicting the highland stag "The Monarch of the Glen". It weighs approx 62 grams and has a historic engraved inscription with year date 1906 in the cartouche. Stunning card case.

Measurements Big size, measures approx 4 inches (102mm) x 2.75 inches (70mm) and is 0.5 inches (12mm) deep. Large enough to hold modern credit cards.

Date English antique solid sterling silver with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1904 (date letter "e"). Good clear silver marks with further hallmarks on the lid and the silversmiths initials are "W & H" (Walker & Hall - 1882 - 1960).
 
Condition Excellent condition, with no splits or repairs, definitely no wear/polish holes in the embossed decoration and no nasty knocks or dents, just tiny little edge rim bruises, really nothing much at all and a lovely genuine antique 120 year old example (not a modern re-production). The silver lid hinge still works perfectly and opens and closes tightly and securely; it is a good large size and is beautifully decorated. Superb rare card case.
