Assassins Creed: Shadows is the thirteenth main installment of the best-selling series published by Ubisoft, launched in 2007. The production was developed by the Ubisoft Quebec studio (known, among others, from Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Assassin's Creed Odyssey) in cooperation with fifteen other teams operating under the wings of the French publisher.
The game begins in 1579, during the late Sengoku period, also known as Azuchi-Momoyama. It was a time not only of great social reforms, the emergence of religious movements and artistic renaissance, but also of the great process of unification of the country.
In the latter, the famous Nobunaga Oda played an important role, being one of the historical figures we have the opportunity to meet during the adventure. The others include Fujibayashi Nagato, the ninja master of the Iga clan, and Yasuke, who went down in history as a unique, black servant of Nobunaga Oda.
The main character is Kay Vess (played by Humberly Gonzalez), a smuggler who we accompany during her transformation from a young, inexperienced girl into a woman respected by the entire criminal underworld. Thanks to her skills, the protagonist quickly becomes one of the key tools of the underworld, which forces her to play on different sides. Her faithful friends - the furry Nix and the rebellious droid ND-5 - take part in her adventures that take her to various corners of a distant galaxy.
