An original World War Two letter including the cover that was written by Lieutenant Eugene Valic who was in the 255th Infantry. It is dated 1945 Wittenberg Germany. In one area it looks like he says,..........the passing away of our great President FDR is a great shock to me and to the United Nations world...........I hope and pray that his plans for a better and more secure world will materialize....................I don't know how we'll make out at the peace conference table. Our President Truman is untried as yet in the game of world politics...........The great U.S. drive to the Southland of Nasidom is gaining in speed...........Pockets off fierce resistance are still encountered in spots..........The've been shooting and killing our medics who are trying to rescue the wounded lying on the field of battle; their wounded as well as ours. The s.o.b's dont deserve any consideration under the rules of land warfare nor the Geneva Convention..................the weather is warm now, and the sweet sickening odor of the dead saturates the atmosphere...........................           The cover has the send to address of  Niagara Falls New York.
