This rare antique leather bound copy of "The Holy Bible, Containing The Old And New Testaments, Translated Out Of The Original Tongues; And With The Former Translations Diligently Compared And Revised" was published in Hartford, Connecticut in 1827 by Silas Andrus and Stereotyped by B. And J. Collins in New York. It measures 5 1/2" x 3" and is 2" thick. The tooled leather covers show some wear, and the rear cover is almost detached, but everything is intact with no loose pages. The spine shows some wear, but is still in good shape and the binding is still very tight. There is two beautiful illustrations in the front (pictured) The pages show some spotting and foxing, but are still very bright and the text is all legible and  free from rips, tears or major damage. The rear 30-40 pages have some damp stains (pictured) but all text is legible. A scarce publisher of a very early American Bible, ready to become a treasured family heirloom! What a great little Bible!
