Terrific Antique 1900s 9ct
Solid Old Yellow Gold Sabre Sword Brooch 2.4g
This is a lovely linear
brooch that we date to around the 1900s. The assay mark is poorly stamped and
looks to read 9ct; tests confirm it is a minimum of 375 for its solid 9ct old
yellow coloured gold. The maker’s initials are “J.S” in a shield for maker
unknown.
It is a in the form of a
cavalry sabre sword with a basket hilt. It is fitted with a hook hasp with
split tube pin holder and a long simple metal pin.
We have listed other pieces of antique, vintage and
fine jewellery this week, please refer to our other listings.
It is in excellent antique
condition, no faults or damage to report, some light wear commensurate with age
and a good antique patina. The photos form part of the condition description.
Measures:
L5.2cm x W1.46; 2.4g.
Please look at all the pictures, they are a really important part of the description and condition report.
