Just came out of a PA estate comes this very old hand carved, hand painted rather medium sized Dutch PA wood box. Hand forged square irregular nails and a fine multi color design. This is a superb example and fresh to the market. Has what looks to be its original hand forged metal lock mechanism. There is no key. Great condition and measuring 14 1/2" long x 8 1/2" tall x 7 1/2" wide (depth)

This American Pennsylvania Dutch box is a rare find for collectors of folk art. The primitive hand-painted design on the wood box looks like it was created in the 1800s. The box is perfect for storing small items and has a unique Americana style that will complement any decor. The maker is believed to be a Pennsylvania German and the box is an original piece from the US-Northeast region. It is unsigned but has a rich history that can be appreciated by anyone who sees it.
