Depicting Captains Lewis and Clark on obverse (or "heads") showing Cpt Lewis holding his journal and Cpt Clark holding his rifle while the reverse (or "tails") depicts the original Jefferson Peace Medal presented to American Indian nations during the expedition. 

It shows the 17 stars (representing the 17 states at the time), two feathers to represent the American Indian cultures touched during the trip and two hands shaking in peace and friendship. 

 The coin comes in the original mint blue box and incased in hard plastic, directly as the U.S. Mint has shipped and packed it .  Coin includes the Certificate of Authenticity.
