Very Good to Excellent condition with no defects to report. As usual, one edge
is slightly uneven from being removed from the binding. And there is a trivial light brown spot at lower
right corner which is marginal.
This is an original hand-colored print - #361 - from the royal octavo first edition of John
James Audubon's Birds of America, published 1840-1844.
Lithographed, printed, and colored by J.T. Bowen, Philadelphia, 1840-44.
The first octavo edition was produced under the direct supervision of John
James Audubon and features strictly hand-coloring.
