Vintage 1920's Found Art
Pencil/Pen and Ink sketch by unknown art student - signed - but signature not discernable.
Drawing is a sketch of a young African American boy - sitting on a stoop. Young boy, smiling broadly, is wearing period dress, patched and torn trousers/overalls, ill fitting shoes and a backwards baseball cap. This is a one of a kind piece.
Back of drawing has some preliminary sketching.
READ: Item was salvaged from a found box of discarded items, set out for trash collection - that also contained the belongings of a New York area Art Student. Information is based on other items found with this piece. Signature is at the bottom of shoe in foreground.
Unknown subject, or the exact date - but found with other items shown to be in the1920's.
Piece measures 9.5" x 6"
It really is a magnificent and inspiring piece.
Returns not accepted. I have not purchased the rights to this piece. It was found in and rescued from - literally - the trash. It needs to be somewhere it will be appreciated.
