This is a really slim Sterling Silver Vesta Case, which is chased with Acanthus scrolls around a shield shaped cartouche which is engraved with a lovely, cursive monogram.
The vesta is hallmarked with the assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter y for 1923, and the maker's mark for Rolason Brothers.
Excellent antique condition, with just light scratches, and te interior gilding is very bright and suggestive of the vesta having been little used. The hinge is fine and the lid closes flush and tightly with a clean snap. The hallmarks are nice and clear.
The vesta is 45 mm x 33 mm, and weighs 16 g.
