Die berühmte Marilyn Monroe photographie des US Amerikanischen Star Photographen Bernard of Hollywood ist ein perfektes Sammlerstück für Fans der legendärsten, weltweit bekannten Amerikanischen Schauspielerin. Im Offsetdruck auf eine leichte Metallplatte aufgebacht, die sich rückseitig metallisch-messingfarben zeigt, (galvanisiert (?). Gesamtgröße ca 60 x 40 cm. Schild an den 4 Ecken mir kleinen Stanzungen zum Aufhängen. Das Motiv zeigt die berühmte Schauspielerin in einer glamourösen Pose im Freien mit hoch fliegenden Röcken, odass ihre makellosen langen Beine ebenso sichtbar sind wie reizvoller Weise ihre Unterwäsche, (Film-)Titel: "7th year itch" Diese ikonische Photographie auf Metall (Auflage unbekannt) ist ein echter Hingucker, perfekt für alle, die etwas Besonderes aus der großen Hollywood Ära (Aufnahme von 1954) für ihre Sammlung suchen.
Bruno Bernard, bekannt unter seinem Künstlernamen Bernard of Hollywood, war einer der begehrtesten Glamour-Photographen im goldenen Zeitalter Hollywoods.
Als
er 1937 aus Nazideutschland floh, hatte er einen Jura-Abschluss in
der Tasche, wandte sich bald darauf jedoch der Fotografie zu. Sein
erstes Studio, das er 1947 auf dem Sunset Strip eröffnete, wurde zu
einem der Wahrzeichen Hollywoods. Dependancen in Palm Springs und Las
Vegas folgten. 1984 wude er als erster Fotograf überhaupt für seine
Portraits von Filmlegenden wie Clark Gable, John Wayne, Elisabeth
Taylor und Marilyn Monroe von der Academy of Motion Picture Arts and
Sciences ausgezeichnet. Neben seinen berühmten Portraits gilt Bruno
Bernard als einer der Wegbereiter der Pin Up Fotografie. Seine
Arbeiten wurden mit Werkschauen im New Yorker Museum of Modern Art
und im International Center of Photography gewürdigt. Er
veröffentlichte zahlreiche Bücher.
In
den 60ern verließ Bruno Bernard Hollywood. Er verkaufte seine
Studios und kehrte in seine Heimatstadt Berlin zurück: Dort
veröffentlichte er Bücher, arbeitete als Portraitfotograf und
Fotojournalist, z. B. für den "Spiegel". 1965 zog er nach
Mallorca . 1987 starb Bruno Bernard.
Unable to get a job as a director, Bernard returned to his interest in photography.[3] In 1938 he set up a darkroom in the basement of his Los Angeles apartment. Inspired by his background in psychology, what he learned about directing, and collaboration with Alberto Vargas, Bernard developed a unique portrait style that he called the "posed candid"; a style that evolved into what is now known as "pin-up" photography. Bernard preferred a moderate use of artificial light. He preferred natural light like the sun at the beach and sometimes added a flash to his light concept. He never had any formal training in photography and credited his success to "two good teachers, trial and error".[3]
By 1940, Bernard's basement darkroom had become his first studio. He started out taking photos of the wives and children of the directors and producers he had come to know through his apprenticeship. As he began making money, he opened a proper studio at 9055 Sunset Blvd. As word spread, he soon came to the attention of agents and other Hollywood professionals who sent actresses his way for photo shoots. He became known as "Bernard of Hollywood".[3] Bernard is credited with first photographing Marilyn Monroe at the Racquet Club in Palm Springs, California, in 1947,[4] when she was still Norma Jeane. She is said to have told Bernard, "Remember, Bernie, you started it all"
