You are looking at a fully branded, limited edition of the 1:43 Lotus-Renault 95T resin model of Italian Formula 1 driver Elio De Angelis - made by resin and diecast German model manufacturer Minichamps (Product Code: 417 840011).

The 1984 Formula 1 World Championship season saw a marked improvement in competitiveness for John Player Team Lotus, with the new 95T machine delivering the constructor's best results since their championship-winning years in the late 1970s, and being as competitive as the championship-winning Mclaren-TAG Porsche MP4/2 for the most part.

Both Elio De Angelis and English teammate Nigel Mansell would net six podium finishes between them, which gave Lotus third in the Constructors championship on 47 points.  Although Nigel would be beset by unreliability and some driving errors on his part, Elio enjoyed a consistent season by scoring points in 11 of the 16 races in 1984, which included four podium finishes with a best of second place at the 1984 Detroit Grand Prix.  Only a poor run of results (failing to finish in four of the final five races) towards the end of 1984 prevented him from scoring more than the 34 points achieved by the Italian, finishing 3rd in the drivers standings behind only the McLaren drivers of Alain Prost and eventual World Champion Niki Lauda.

The model features Elio's beautiful black and gold Lotus-Renault 95T as it raced during the 1984 Formula 1 World Championship season.  It is a limited edition of 504 pieces worldwide, and comes with full John Player Special tobacco branding (decals supplied by Minichamps) which I've applied myself onto the model.

The model and lid are both in new condition and comes with a cellophane sleeve.

Thanks for looking :)
