Hello,

I’m selling this unit for a friend, her husband was the original 1st owner of

this McIntosh C 28 stereo preamplifier and he passed away 10 years ago. She is making room in her life for new things and so she asked me to move it on.

It is a vintage piece of audio equipment from the 70’s in original condition so please understand what you are buying. A friend of mine who is a sound engineer hooked it up to his system and was able to test it out and it works but since he is not an expert on these older units he recommend that you take it to a professional before you go buck wild with it. Most of the lights work great but some are dim. The Chrome is in good condition and the glass is intact with no cracks. There is some static when you adjust the volume but my friend said this is common with older units like this and is relatively easily reconditioned. It has two performance stickers, 1973 & 1974 that show it was maintained originally. There is some oxidation here and there but again normal for the age.

It is a great addition to any audiophile's collection and is crafted with the McIntosh brand's superior quality. The preamp is a vintage model that was manufactured in the United States and has been well-preserved to retain its original condition.

The McIntosh C 28 stereo preamplifier is a highly sought-after piece of equipment that will enhance the sound quality of any stereo system. The preamp is ideal for vintage audio enthusiasts, with its classic design and McIntosh brand name.

Overall, this is an amazing opportunity to own a rare vintage piece of audio equipment. Although this power amplifier works as stated, due to age and a long period of non-use it is offered for restoration and sold as is. This unit is about a half century old and should be gone over by a McIntosh tech. and serviced before serious use.

This preamp is being sold, as-is condition.

Please feel free to ask questions before purchasing.
