This is a classic vintage style fuzz pedal. I would presume it is based on the traditional germanium transistors rather than silicon transistors as the general sound is very similar to the Electro Harmonix big muff.
The overall fuzz sound is rich, smooth, rounded and controllable. It works equally well with rhythm or lead playing. It provides thick, yet crisp tone when playing single notes and full chords remain clear and pronounced.
Also, like good fuzz pedals, it cleans up when turning down the guitar volume.
It also has versatility. It does the expected classic fuzz of the late 60's/early 70's but can create a much wider range of tones from smooth, subtle singing to full-on growl with long sustain and unlike many similar pedals it is controllable, so can create any sound between, rather than jumping to extremes.
Overall, a good versatile fuzz peal with a sound close to a big muff.
