Antique Salviati Venetian Gold & Enamel
Renaissance Revival Claret or Cordial Glass
Up for sale is an exceptionally fine example of antique Venetian glass artistry.
This Salviati Renaissance Revival gold and white enamel encrusted claret, cordial or aperitif glass measures 6-1/4" high by 3" across the paneled octagonal rim.
The cone shaped bowl is decorated with an elaborate scrolling gold design accented by white enamel beads at the rim.
The base of the bowl has a series of eight finely applied elongated teardrops.
The stem features a spiral-twist knob tapering to a round base measuring 2-5/8" in diameter. The base is further decorated with a scalloped gold starburst design and a double row of white enamel accent beads.
The glass is in excellent antique condition with no cracks, chips, clouding or noticeable loss to the décor.
