This little guy is one of six friends who are known in Germany by every child (and every adult). They come from the second German television where they make fun as cartoons between commercials. Their names are: Anton, Berti, Conni, Det, Edi, Fritzchen. They all represent a certain type of character.

The one offered here is Berti .

The Mainzelmännchen first appeared in the early sixties. Over time, their appearance was adjusted to the Zeitgeist. Today they are very different to the early ones.

In the late 60s and early 70s, they become more colorful than they were in the early 60s. Which has a simple explanation: Tv in the early 60s was black and white.

The Mainzelmännchen offered here is from the 60s. So a very early merchandise object and thus a real collectors item.

It's made of rubber but it's not solid rubber -there's air inside. Nevertheless, it is of high quality. Just a German product from the 60s/ early 70s.

Overall good vintage condition for it's age with signs of use and - please take a close look at all pictures!
