BESCHREIBUNG

Originale Eisenkassette der Renaissance. Rechteckiger Korpus. Ecken, Kanten und Felder mit genieteten Zierbeschlägen.

Vorder, Seiten- und Deckelflächen mit originaler floraler Bemalung und Blüten. Deckel auf zwei Scharnieren gelagert.

An den Seiten zwei massive, tordierte Handhaben.

Vorderfront mit Blendschloss. Zentralgelagerte Schlossöffnung mit originalem Hohldornschlüssel. Deckel innen mit ziselierter Schlossblende und dem darunter befindlichen Schlossmechanismus mit zwei Riegeln und zwei Dornen.

Innen in Rotmennige gefasst. Hervorragendes Beispiel einer Renaissanceschatulle in musealer Qualität. Der Boden auf vier beweglichen Stab- und Kugelfüßen.

Höhe: 16,5 cm; Breite: 28 cm; Tiefe: 15 cm; Gewicht: 3,4 kg

ZUSTAND

Guter bis sehr guter Originalzustand mit nur geringen Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren. Deckel partiell etwas verbogen. Füße gelockert.

MATERIAL

Iron, forged, riveted and painted

ORIGIN

Nuremberg, around 1550

DESCRIPTION

Original Renaissance iron casket. Rectangular body. Corners, edges and fields with riveted decorative fittings. Front, sides and lid surfaces with original floral painting and flowers. Lid mounted on two hinges.

Two massive, twisted handles on the sides. Front with blind lock. Centre-mounted lock opening with original hollow spike key. Inside lid with chiselled lock panel and the lock mechanism underneath with two bolts and two spikes.

The interior is painted in red mien. Outstanding example of a Renaissance casket in museum quality. The base on four movable rod and ball feet.

MEASUREMENTS

Height: 16.5 cm; Width: 28 cm; Depth: 15 cm; Weight: 3.4 kg

CONDITION

Good to very good original condition with only minor signs of age and use. Lid slightly bent in places. Feet loosened.
