Rockville and Vernon, CT residents, here's a piece of your history. It's the 1929 church directory for the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Incredible detail with their finances, the history of their church, etc.

There was a split among the mostly German congregation of the local Lutheran church as to whether church members  should be allowed to join secret societies/groups like the Masons or the Oddfellows. The First Evangelical Lutheran Church was one of the divisions that broke off from the original Lutheran church.

The directory/church then to no surprise, is comprised of mostly German immigrants and their descendants.

The quality of the directory is something to behold. For a 95 year old booklet to have such high quality paper and retain its luster and sheen, which cause the text to really stand out, is not something frequently seen (see photos). It's 36 pages and measures 8" x 5".
