This is a lovely example of a replica of the anointing spoon used in the coronation of British Monarchs down the centuries.

This is a particularly good example, the gilding being virtually flawless, and the spoon dating to the Coronation in 1901 of King Edward VII.

The spoon is hallmarked with the assay mark for London, the date letter f for 1901, and the maker's mark for Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd.

The spoon is 11 cm long, and weighs 11 g.

Excellent antique condition with just light scratches. The hallmarks are very clear except the maker's mark is a little obscured.
