Rare Minton's Porcelain Oyster Plate in cobalt blue and turquoise colors, circa 1879

Item description: 

Catalogue-featured example of Minton oyster plate design from 1879 according to the marking cypher on the plate. This oyster plate has cobalt blue base colour with a turquoise blue finishing in the 6 oyster wells, larger well cracker and central lemon dish section. The back is finished in a deep emerald green finish.


Plate is stamped and signed

Diameter: 25 cm/ 10", weight is 660 gr / 23.3 oz

Condition:  Almost perfect antique condition.There are a few areas of glaze surface wear off mostly on the edges of the wells, please see carefully the pictures. Three marks on the backside shaped in triangle are coming from manufacturing process when plate was put in the oven. Rich colours, delicate painting. No cracks or repairs, almost no crazing to glaze.  Please see photos for details.

Every piece will be carefully wrapped in professional air bubble plastic, paper wrap and placed in a thick cardboard box.
