The Artist is ROBERT SCANLAN (1801-1876) who was an Irish painter and portraitist.

The Engraver was JOHN HARRIS III (1811-1865) famous British Engraver of the 19th C., known for his animal and sporting scenes.

Published by RUDOLPH ACKERMANN (1764-1834) who was an Anglo-German bookseller, inventor, lithographer, publisher and businessman.

This is an antique aquatint printed on paper. Aquatint is an intaglio printmaking technique, a variant of etching that produces areas of tone rather than lines. For this reason it has mostly been used in conjunction with etching, to give both lines and shaded tone. It has also been used historically to print in color, both by printing with multiple plates in different colors, and by making monochrome prints that were then hand-colored with watercolor.

Very nice shape with strong colors.  I also have the matching print - HORSE DEALING No.1 - available on line as well.  Will be shipped flat.  Please examine the photos for the best visual description of condition and ask questions if something is not clear.
