A very nice original pen and ink drawing by Charles Edward Brock 1870-1938. This piece was used to illustrate page 166 in Louey Chisholm's 'The Golden Staircase' published in 1928. Titled to the lower margin and signed to lower middle. 

Charles Edmund Brock was a widely published English painter, line artist and book illustrator, who signed most of his work C. E. Brock. He was the eldest of four artist brothers, including Henry Matthew Brock, also an illustrator.

Condition: 
A little grubby, marked and with some pinholes to margins, but in good order for the age. Please see our images for further description. The copy of the book is not included in the sale.
