This is Marvel Masterworks Volume Six, the sixth book in the Masterwork series that collects the finest issues published by Marvel Comics. Marvel Master Works books are deluxe edition high quality reprint books of some of Marvel's greatest issues, including covers, from both the Silver and Bronze Age. They are hardcover books with dust jackets, and printed on very thick high quality paper, designed to last a very long time. The book has beautiful purple leather-type covers and spine, along with gold lettering of the title and the circular "4" logo, which you can see if you take off the dust jacket. This book features Fantastic Four #11-20. This is the second volume featuring the early adventures of Dr. Reed Richards, Susan and Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm, better known as the super-heroes Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Girl, The Human Torch, and The Thing. All issues feature story and art by the legendary team of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Included in this great hardback book are these issues:

  • Fantastic Four #11, from February 1963, featuring the first appearance of the Impossible Man
  • Fantastic Four #12, featuring the absolute classic first battle between The Thing and The Incredible Hulk
  • Fantastic Four #13, featuring the first appearances of The Watcher and The Red Ghost
  • Fantastic Four #14, featuring the return of the Puppet Master and Namor, the Sub-Mariner
  • Fantastic Four #15, featuring the 1st appearance of the Mad Thinker and the Awesome Android
  • Fantastic Four #16, featuring the return of the FF's greatest villain, Dr. Doom, and a guest appearance by Ant-Man
  • Fantastic Four #17, featuring another Doctor Doom appearance
  • Fantastic Four #18, featuring the first appearance of the Super-Skrull
  • Fantastic Four #19, featuring the 1st appearance of Rama-Tut, "The Pharaoh From The Future"
  • Fantastic Four #20, featuring the first appearance of the Molecule Man

This book is 232 pages long, and includes an introduction by Stan Lee (legendary creator of the X-Men, the Mighty Thor, the Amazing Spiderman, Daredevil, the Avengers, the Incredible Hulk, and countless other classic Marvel characters and teams). This hard cover book is in very good condition, but does have some wear to the dust jacket, including some edgewear with a small tear near the top left edge of the back cover, and also a small water stain marking on the inside of the jacket near the bottom of the spine and lower edges next to it. It's not very noticeable from the outside, but we wanted to make sure it was mentioned. This is a truly great way to own expensive classics that might otherwise be unobtainable. Even if you have the originals, this is a great way to be able to read the stories and admire the artwork and covers without having to worry about handling the actual issues and damaging them. Highly recommended for any FF or comic book fan. There is no statement of printing, and the book has the original 1988 copyright date, so this appears to be the very hard to find original 1st printing.
