That's just what it is, cast iron with steel on the back to keep the money in. All original, and in need of a bit of attention from a toy or bank cleaning expert . Size is 6 X 2 1/2" wide at the base. Shown in Moore's bank book as M# 1548 rated "D". Made in the 1920's - 1931 by A.C. Williams. 6 photos to see every angle up close and personal. Not repainted, repaired, and not broken. It stands well with no problems, and looks great on a bank shelf! There is a bit of rust, and yes it did come from Mass. in the 1970's.
