This listing is part of a series of hand colored prints included in Louis Godey's Monthly fashion magazine that was also sold by the Publisher as a monthly magazine with the larger fashion plates than the hard bound annual. The fashion prints in this magazine were distributed to a wide number of watercolor artists with description of the fashions and let a great deal of discretion to the artist on the hues and shading of each print. This way four neighboring ladies could have the same hard bound book and have fashions in a variety of colors and shades with the same print. These prints are are over 140 years of age and are not in like new pristine contemporary condition but all possess a patina and age browning which gives the print a certification of its age.
None are copies or recent reproductions nor are any prints colored after publication time.
