Highly polished surface is specially treated to never corrode or oxidize. Oxidation creating poor contacts is a common problem with the Bird 3610-01. These specially treated blank dummy slugs are first polished and then treated to be highly resistant to any oxidation.

Protect your Bird Electronic and Coaxial Dynamic RF wattmeters from damage with this blank dummy plug. Precision machined aluminum blank plug. When you don't have an element plugged into the meter insert this blank plug and it will shunt the meter and protect it against damage. 

Although it is commonly thought of as a dust plug the most important purpose of this element is to protect the sensitive 30 ua meter movement. It shorts the meter movement to protect it if the wattmeter is jarred or dropped. This plug should be in any wattmeter that is not in use. Fit's both Coaxial Dynamics and Bird Electronic RF wattmeters. Similar to Bird PN 3610-031.
