Description

Kolossus 0 Gauge Dual Power Amp Install Kit

Designed to simplify a dual amplifier installation, this OFC amp kit includes all battery cable and power distribution required to power a high current, two amplifier system. Kolossus OFC 0 gauge connects from the battery to our BK-2020 fuse block. From the fuse block, Kolossus 4 gauge connects to your amplifiers.

This kit is designed to be a base for installation of a large, high current audio system. KnuKonceptz includes additional 0 gauge ground wire to allow for Battery to Chassis Ground. Included with our kit is a 300A In Line ANL fuse and two Mini-150A fuses for use within our two way fuse block.

Additional Speaker Wire and RCA's will be required to complete your installation.

Plain and Simple Specifications

All KnuKonceptz Cable Products clearly state these specifications

  • Wire type - CCA or OFC
  • These materials are commonly used, but not commonly stated when shopping online. Know what you are purchasing. Both metals are capable of performing up to their rated loads.
  • American Wire Gauge
  • Wire gauge is crucial to powering your system correctly. Undersized cable will create unsafe conditions and may shorten your amplifier's life.
  • Max Load (amps)
  • Wire's ampacity changes with gauge and materials. KnuKonceptz does not rate cable based on watts. Amplifier manufactures do not always truthfully state the output of their product, check your on board fuses!

True American Wire Gauge (AWG) Products

  • Using American Wire Gauge standards, the gauge of stranded wire is determined by the total area of the conductor.
  • To calculate this you would take the area of each strand and add it together. This area, in square mm, then determines gauge.
  • Diameter is not as critical with stranded wire, this is due to the tiny air gaps between each strand. Diameter may fluctuate with strand size and how tightly wound the rope of the cable is.
  • The smaller the number, the larger the wire, until you reach zero or aught (0). From zero, you then have double aught (00 or 2/0), three aught (000 or 3/0) ...
  • Based on AWG, the true gauge of this cable is 0 Gauge

Tinned Copper - What the Pros Recommend

  • When bare copper is exposed to oxygen, it oxidizes over time (turns brown/green).
  • These contaminants are damaging to the cable's ability to conduct electricity.
  • Tin provides a protective barrier from oxygen to the bare copper underneath.
  • By adding a thin layer of tin to each strand, the cable is no longer able to oxidize.
  • Tin does not react with oxygen and therefore the cable will never change color or have any change in its ability to conduct electricity

Bassik Fuse Block - Simple & Solid

  • Large set screws secure multiple gauges without adapters
  • Compact design allows for installation in tight places
  • Mini-ANL fuses allow for small and large loads.
  • Optional use of second input makes expansion quick and easy.
  • Connect either a second battery or additional blocks for larger applications

Product FAQ

Q: How many watts can this amp kit handle?
A: At KnuKonceptz, we do not use "watts" to rate our amp kits. This is a very inaccurate method to determine what the proper gauge wire required for your amp installation. There are many amp manufactures and not all of them represent the output of their product accurately. Please refer to your amplifier's fuse rating, this is a number a manufacture can not fake, well they could but it would put their product in harms way! Add up the fuses on the end of your amp (three 30A fuses = 90A total draw) If this number is under 120A, this kit will fit your application. If over 120A, a larger 150A fuse can be used. Systems over 150A, a larger gauge wire would be required.
Q: Can I alter this kit in any way before purchasing?
A: Our amp kits are made in large batches to reduce cost, which is passed onto you. We can not alter them in any way. Should you need to make alterations, you would have to purchase the items individually from our shopping cart.
Q: I need a longer power wire, what can I do?
A: The fuse holder does not come installed within the kit's cable. This allows the installer to place the inline fuse holder in an optimum location during installation. It also allows the installer to extend the power wire 1-3Ft by using the inline fuse holder to add cable to the main run (leaving the 18Ft as one unit and using the FH-20 to "splice" a few feet of wire)
Q: I received my amp installation kit, what do I use all this wire for?
A: The 2Ft of 0 Gauge black is meant to upgrade the battery to chassis ground. Connect the two black ring terminals to the 0 gauge black ground wire. Connect one end to the vehicle chassis and the other end to the battery’s negative terminal. Using the 4 gauge black ground wire, determine placement for the two amplifiers and cut the wire accordingly into two pieces (one cut) so that both amps have a chassis ground cable. This chassis ground should be one common point for both amplifiers to reduce any possibility of a ground loop. Attach the 4 gauge black ring terminals, one to each end of the now two ground wires. Secure the two 4 gauge grounds tightly to a clean location of the vehicle’s chassis. Repeat the same procedure for the 4 gauge power wire, connecting them to the output of the BK-2020 Fuse Block
