Another super pattern for both knitters and crochet workers! With this pattern you can recreate a knitted turban decorated with a super bow, within which the pattern gives details for two options "For Young Girl Or Matron" (I love it!!). You also get details on how to make a crochet hat (made to fit any head size) with a knitted halo. Both turban and hat are timeless pieces which would make a fine gift or a treat for yourself! TIP!- Where the pattern directs a 2-ply wool be used, try a modern 3-ply, and where a 3-ply is stated, try a modern 4-ply. This is because vintage yarns were heavier than modern, but work your tension square and change needles if necessary to obtain the tension as stated in the pattern.

ALL MEASUREMENTS AND MATERIALS NEEDED ARE TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM THE PATTERN.

A TURBAN & BOW- FOR YOUNG GIRL OR MATRON:

Measurements- Worked at a a tension of 7 sts. to the inch in width, the turban will fit a head measurement of 23 inches.

Materials - 4-ply Fingering, or the same quantity of 2-ply Fingering, used double, a pair of No. 10 knitting needles.

A CROCHET HAT- WITH KNITTED HALO:

Measurements - Worked at a tension of 6.5 double crochet to 1 inch in width, with a No.10 crochet hook and using the wool double, the cap measures 22 inches round the head edge, but as the cap is worked in sections, it can be made any size required by working more or less sections.

Materials - 3-ply Fingering; No. 10 crochet hook; a pair of no. 6 knitting needles; ¾ yard of inch wide ribbon for the headband; small quantity of cotton-wool to pad the trimming.
