~ WINE COOLER / ICE BUCKET ~

Presented for your consideration is a very rare cut-to-clear crystal wine cooler or ice bucket in a soft AMETHYST / PURPLE / PLUM / VIOLET / LAVENDER / MAUVE.  The sides are cut with a spiraling design of comets, stars, fans and panels of a snowflake crystal pattern above a row of large oval coin dots at the base.  The sides are over a 1/4 inch thick.  The 1/2 inch thick base has been left unadorned. 

This heavy full lead (24% PbO) crystal container is a vintage piece produced in eastern Germany.  It presents a wine bottle well and it could be used to serve ice cubes, but if company is not on the agenda, a bouquet of garden flowers would look great as well. In excellent condition.  A few tiny air bubbles grace the sides attesting to the fact that this item has been mouth-blown and hand-cut.  There are no nicks, dings, chips, scratches nor repairs.
