This tap benefits from compression valves which require several turns to open the valves fully. Traditionally found on kitchen taps or classic style taps.

Mayfair Brassware are a well known "top end" brass products company. The design of all of their products is cutting edge.
The brass bodies of Mayfair taps are all 59% or higher copper content and have undergone extensive salt spray testing during manufacture. Cheaper taps have low copper contents and traditional undergo shorter salt spray tests. This means that those taps look beautiful to begin with but they quickly (1/2 years) corrode and tarnish.
Other reasons why this tap is exceptional quality is the polishing stage prior to the electroplating with nickel is very thorough to unsure a thick but even coverage. If you look at a cheap tap at an angle you can often see "waves" in the plating and this is because the bond (nickel) is not thorough and even - Mayfair Taps are perfectly polished and the nickel is evenly distributed making the gold finish beautiful and flawless.
