The Dave Clark Five Glad All Over LP LIMITED
EDITION (White Vinyl) LP WITH ORIGINAL RELASE MARKETING STICKER STILL ATTACHED
TO THE PLASTIC WRAP.
Debut Album Pressed On Limited Edition White Vinyl LP!
Remastered From The Original Tapes!
The debut studio album from British quintet The Dave Clark
Five was originally released in March 1964. It includes the hit singles
"Bits and Pieces", "Do You Love Me" and the title track
"Glad All Over", the single which at the time supplanted the Beatles'
"I Want to Hold Your Hand" from the top of the UK Singles Chart. DC5
were one of first UK acts to achieve success in the US as part of the British
Invasion, as well as making more appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show than any
other UK act. This reissue includes recordings remastered from the original
tapes and an updated tracklisting that differs from the original US release and
the subsequent UK version entitled A Session With The Dave Clark Five. It is
presented on limited edition white vinyl and features reproduced original
artwork.
There's neither an anniversary nor any other kind of
milestone to tie to this re-release of the Dave Clark Five's debut U.S.
full-length. There doesn't really need to be. This Tottenham quintet was one of
the other British Invasion acts to truly challenge the Beatles' ubiquity on the
American charts in the '60s with hits like this album's title track and
'Because.' It helped that they pretty much saturated the market. This record
was the first of four the group would release in 1964 - all of them landing in
or near the Top 10. It also didn't hurt that the DC5 were the perfect blend of
nasty and sweet, as born out on this fine reissue. The sentiments in their
original songs had a romantic bent, be it the joyful glow of 'All of the Time'
or the baleful 'Bits & Pieces.' But the band's overdriven attack
(everything from Clark's drums to Denis Payton's saxophone to Mike Smith's
vocals are coated in a thin layer of distortion) goes for the throat, fangs and
claws exposed. Remastered for vinyl using the original session tapes, the music
burns hotter than ever.

DONOVAN - GREATEST HITS - Out of Print Factory Sealed LP - LAST OUT OF PRINT ORIGINAL EPIC RECORDS STEREO RELEASE PE 26439. IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND IN THIS STEREO RELEASE
If there was anyone on the pop scene in the middle 1960s that rivaled the brilliance and flamboyance of both Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, it was English superstar folkie Donovan Leitch. With Catchy melodies and colorful lyrics, he caught the imagination of the sixties generations with his playful and imaginative takes on the contemporary scene.
He caused a major stir with "Mellow Yellow", which touted the supposed hallucinogenic properties of banana peels, when he knew perfectly well it was all a joke, and lambasted in military involvement in Vietnam in "Universal Soldier" (unfortunately not included here). But wonderful songs like "Colours", "Hurdy Gurdy Man", and "Catch The Wind", a paean to Dylan's "Blowing In The Wind'. He was immensely popular, and thoughtful and hypnotic love songs like "Lalena" certainly helped his reputation as a charismatic troubadour.
So too did Donovan's imaginative tale of the long lost city in "Atlantis", a major hit for him. He specialized in sweet confections like "Sunshine Superman", "There Is A Mountain', and "Jennifer Juniper", and with each of these and with "Season Of The Witch", Wear Your Love Like Heaven", and a playful "To Susan On The West Coast Waiting", he spun tall tales that were more fun and games than serious poetry put to music.

THE GREATEST HITS OF ERIC BURDON AND THE ANIMALS - SEALED LP MGM RECORDS SE - 4602 -
THE GREATEST HITS OF ERIC BURDON AND THE ANIMALS is an MGM RECORDS release. Eric Burdon was the songwriter of all but River Deep, Mountain High and To Love Somebody. He alone or the songwriting team of Burdon-Briggs-Weider-Jenkins-McCulloch wrote the following tracks recorded on this album: San Franciscan Nights - Year of the Guru - Anything - Monterey - White Houses - Winds of Change - Sky Pilot.
THE HOLLIES GREAT HITS SEALED LP KE 32061 and this title sells for over $120 if you can find one still sealed.
THE HOLLIES GREATEST HITS 180 GRAM SEALED LP - It may have been a crass marketing assemblage of this U.K. group's successes up until their second-chance 1972 hit, "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother"; but this also contains some of the greatest pop songs to be found under one chronologically fudged roof. Singer Allan Clarke was one of the most versatile vocalists of the British Invasion, able to pull off cute pop vignettes ("Bus Stop"), whoop it up like the original rockabilly ("Long Cool Woman"), lament majestically ("King Midas in Reverse"), and add distinctive blues colorings to the band's R&B covers ("Just One Look"). All in all, the Hollies were pretty good album artists, but Greatest Hits is what you really need. Clarke's boyhood chum Graham Nash adds faultless harmonies, guitarist Tony Hicks contributes sparkling fills, and the unheralded Bobby Elliott is on the skins. Pure pop manna.
