You are buying an A4 modern print of the original pattern, not the finished item.

This super 1940s knitting pattern shows your creative side! A wonderful selection of slippers for you to make. You can make crochet Sandal Slippers (top of cover), Garter-Stitch Slippers (second down on cover), Mules With A Looped Border (Third down on cover) and Slippers With Revers (foot of cover). Sizes vary so see each entry below for further details; and regards the wool either 3-ply or 4-ply is used either singly or twisted together according to the style chosen. Regards the wool, in place of the vintage 3-ply try a modern 4-ply and in place of the vintage 4-ply try a modern D/K as vintage yarns were heavier than modern, but work a tension square to see if a change of needles is needed to obtain the tension stipulated in the pattern. Slipper soles can be obtained from the haberdashery sellers on ebay.
